If you’re going to be at home, work, or school on Valentine’s Day, it’s not too late to get away. If you’re not sure what to do, check out our list below. Instead, we’ve compiled a list of date ideas for Valentine’s Day in and around Seoul.
We hope you have a Valentine’s Day that’s a little more special than yesterday.
1. Dine at a nice restaurant
Where and what you eat will determine how sweet your day will be. Whether it’s a restaurant with a Han River view, a wine bar, or a Michelin-starred fine dining establishment, there are plenty of atmospheric restaurants in Seoul to choose from.
Again, the menu and location are more important than the gift.
2. Go on a vacation for relaxation and a special event at the same time
Even if you don’t want to travel to a faraway place, you can still spice things up with a one-night getaway at a mid-range or high-end hotel in Seoul.
You can even get a Valentine’s Day vacation package that includes a bouquet of flowers and champagne from the hotel, making it convenient and sweet for your date.
3. Romantic moments at a heated pool spa
It’s a good thing Valentine’s Day falls in February, so you can spend some romantic time in a warm spa. Find a European-style open-air bath, rooftop jacuzzi, or infinity pool in or around Seoul and enjoy a romantic moment with your significant other.
The sweet atmosphere and wellness experience are a bonus!
4. Confess your love with handmade chocolates
If you’re afraid that your significant other will get cold feet with your sincere declaration of love, you can try handmade chocolates to express your heartfelt feelings.
It’s hard to tell if the chocolate is sweeter or the words, but either way, it’s sweet, and that’s half the battle.
Handmade chocolate shops in Seoul sell out quickly on Valentine’s Day, so make a reservation in advance!
If you’re really handy, you can buy the ingredients from an offline store and make your own chocolates, as it’s much more personalized and you’ll appreciate the effort that goes into it.
5. Romantic Classics: Candlelight Valentine’s Day Special Performances
Debussy’s Moonlight, Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love with You, and more will be performed at Candlelight’s special Valentine’s Day concerts on February 14 and 15.
Hisaishi Joe and Taylor Swift will also be performing on other nights in February, so you can celebrate your anniversary with your special someone in a romantic setting by candlelight.
6. Brunch at the Han River View Cafe
Enjoy coffee and brunch while sitting at a window seat with a wide view of the Han River. The Han River itself creates the best atmosphere.
If you don’t want to go to a high-class restaurant, you can enjoy a coffee at a casual Han River view cafe. If the Han River view cafes are already fully booked, how about a Han River view Starbucks?
7. Give a gift of your favorite brand
If you don’t know what to get your significant other, you can always try to find a brand that they like or frequent.
Most of the time, these brands have Valentine’s Day specials or promotions, so choosing from their favorite brands is a great way to make your gift more successful and satisfying!
8. Date Night at Lotte World Ice Rink
It’s always fun to go inside Lotte World and enjoy the amusement park rides, but if you want to keep things simple and calm, head to the ice rink next to the entrance to Lotte World. The time will fly by as you run hand-in-hand with your significant other.
9. Go stargazing at night
The night sky is a staple repertoire and inherent part of our love history. Heck, even the constellations are compatible with love.
Enjoy a colorful night view from one of Seoul’s night view spots, or head out to the suburbs to admire the vast expanse of the night sky. You never know, you might just catch a shooting star that will make your wish come true.
