It’s hard to believe that there’s only a month left in the year, but there are things you can do at the end of the year to make up for it and look forward to the new year! We’ve put together a list of things you can do to make the most of the end of the year.
1. Christmas date
It’s probably the most romantic day of the year, so what can you do on Christmas that you can’t miss? Take a photo with a Christmas tree in the background, skate on an ice rink. There are tons of fun things to do during this season, including the Seoul Lantern Festival. If you’re stuck for Christmas date ideas, check them out here.
2. Christmas Markets at the Outlets
You can enjoy the holiday atmosphere while shopping! It is an outlet where you can get excited just by shopping with your kids. There are Shinsegae Premium Outlets Siheung, Lotte Premium Outlets Time Villas, Paju, and Dongbusan, which attract people every year with their Christmas decorations. Christmas is all about the tree. There are many places, but we recommend Shinsegae Department Store Myeongdong, COEX Byeolmadang Library, Hyundai Department Store Trade Center, and The Hyundai Seoul Christmas Village. The large trees are decorated with various ornaments and lights, and you’ll feel happy just looking at them.
4. Celebrate the holidays in an unexpected place: an aquarium
If you’re looking for a warm place to go out this year, head to an aquarium. The COEX Aquarium has a variety of programs and events that will keep your curiosity piqued, such as underwater performances by mermaids and meal times with penguins. With more than 20,000 marine creatures and the largest shark colony in Korea, Coex Aquarium is definitely worth a visit! For more information on COEX Aquarium’s hours and tickets, click here.
5. Unforgettable Winter Camping
There are eight campgrounds in Seoul, including Nanji Campground, Noeul Campground, Seoul National University Park Campground, Jungnang Campground, Gangdong Greenway Family Campground, Chosansan Campground, Uidong Family Campground, Cheonwangsan Campground, and Cheonwangsan Campground, which offer both value for money and value for time. Reservations usually open around the 15th of the month prior to availability and fill up very quickly, but it’s worth keeping an eye out for canceled spots.
