Corky Pub Hongdae is the first place that comes to mind when you think of sports pubs. If they’re open, they’re always showing all kinds of sports games, including soccer, baseball, and basketball. Seongsu-dong’s rootless bar, Rootless, has opened a new space, Daesujak. As the name suggests, it’s a large space with a large screen that shows various sports events, including the World Cup. The characteristic feature of this place is that there is a small broadcasting seat in the middle of the screen, and the main character of the broadcasting seat is none other than the president.
3. Bonghwangdang
Bonghwangdang, a famous Liverpool pub. It is one of the historic places that most soccer fans must have heard of. The owner is a self-proclaimed radical Liverpool Kop, and the pub is full of love for soccer and Liverpool. Currently, it is about to move from Yeonnam-dong to Mullae-dong. A favorite among baseball fans, Double Play Chicken. In addition to the big screen, there are several monitors showing live sports. The concept of a new sports chicken pub attracts fans of each baseball team. It is said that you can feel the same thrill as the chee-mak at the ballpark.
5. Rose & Crown
The Rose and Crown has a very British feel to it from the moment you walk in the door, with a local flavor. It is also one of the top sports pubs. It started as the first ale house in Korea and has been a favorite in Itaewon for a long time. All soccer matches held during business hours can be streamed live on Rose & Crown.
6. Liverpool Pubs
Liverpool Pub is a soccer pub located in Geumseok. When you think of sports pubs, you might think of beer, but this place also boasts cocktails as one of its main menu items. There is a wide variety of cocktails and they are reasonably priced. If there is a big game, you can make a reservation through their official Instagram.
7. Seoul Seagulls
A baseball bar that lives in Lotte, and only for Lotte Seoul Gull. Fans of the Lotte Giants, who play their home games in Busan, Korea, can soothe their frustrations here. They also sell a limited number of combo menus, including chicken kangjeong, french fries, and jjolmyeon, served on a plate shaped like Sajik Stadium.
8. Elji Pocha (LG Pocha)
Eljipocha, a mecca for LG Twins fans. It’s a famous pho cha that requires reservations on baseball season days as there are no seats available. From the entrance to the interior, the LG Twins fan spirit is evident with the LG colors. It was once a small outdoor pocha on Jongno 5-ga street, but has since moved to 16-1, 1F, Jongno 39-gil, and now operates in an indoor building.
