The year is drawing to a close, and the schedule for December is filling up quickly with plans for year-end parties and year-end travel plans. In an eventful year, someone said that if anything ends beautifully, it will be left as a good memory. Let’s check out the concerts and festivals over Christmas and New Year’s Eve that will make the end of the year warm and beautiful.
1. Psy All Night Stand 2023
Psy‘s epic year-end concert “All Night Stand” is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. It’s the kind of concert that, legend has it, starts late at night and goes on until the last night train leaves and the first morning one arrives. The 2023 Psy All-Nighter will take place from 11:42 p.m. on three separate nights, Dec. 22-24, at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Arena. For more information, see here.
2. 2023 Sungkyunkwan Holiday Concert
A musician I always think of around the holidays, Sungsikyung’s year-end concert is back, and it’s not too late to grab tickets. In 2023, the year-end concert is from the 29th to the 31st.
3. Candlelight Holiday: Christmas Special Program
Candlelight has announced a special Christmas and New Year’s Eve program. Offering classical music by candlelight in a romantic setting, with a focus on Christmas music from composers both classical and modern. Tickets for the special concert on December 23 are still available, but they’re selling fast.
4. Seoul Winter Festa
Seoul Winter Festa is a series of 10 festivals held at seven landmarks in downtown Seoul. Media art projections, lantern festivals, countdowns to the New Year’s Bells, and the Seoul Plaza skating rink are just some of the things you as part of it, with events running from now until January 1.
5. Seoul Lantern Festival
This festival of lanterns lights up the Gwanghwamun neighbourhood and Cheonggyecheon stream every year. This year’s theme is ‘White Night In Seoul’, and from December 15 to January 21, it will be illuminating daily from 6-10pm.
6. Fuerza Bruta Wayra in Seoul
Fuerza Bruta is a legendary show with their continuous series of colourful performances. After performing in 63 cities around the world, Fuerza Bruta is back in Seoul this year, and performances can be seen through to February 15 at the FB Theatre in Seongsu Cultural Arts Complex. 7. Sound Kitchen Records: Ttukseom DUB Club
There’s a hidden record bar in Ttukseom, with listening parties held every Friday night or on special occasions. In 2023, there are events left on December 22 and December 29, so if you want to enjoy the dub sounds that DJs in clubs have painstakingly composed, book a place via Fever.
