1. Deoksugung Palace Unique Tour
Living in Seoul, we often pass by our cultural heritage sites without a second thought. Every street in our capital city holds centuries of untold stories. This weekend, the Deoksugung Unique Tour begins. Why not join this expert-led tour and listen more closely to the past of our capital?
You’ve likely heard the superstition that couples who walk along Deoksugung’s stone wall path will break up, but how many know that Deoksugung is the only surviving palace in Korea that blends traditional Korean architecture with Western-style buildings? Behind this exotic and beautiful architectural style lies the pain of the Japanese colonial period, preserved intact.
This weekend, let’s delve into the stories held within Deoksugung Palace.

7. Shin Kwang Ho Solo Exhibition <Fragmented Contemplation>
Personally, I enjoy appreciating the work of local artists who are not yet widely known. While art is often defined by expert interpretations and market evaluations, the experience of encountering a piece free from all that noise and building my own pure appreciation is also a great appeal.
That’s why I’d like to recommend artist Shin Kwang Ho. Currently active in Seoul, his paintings are not difficult to understand. He reconstructs portraits of celebrities using highly saturated colors. At first glance, it seems like paint is applied carelessly, but the figure emerges from it – that’s his signature.
This exhibition marks his 20th show, showcasing his unique style. Since he primarily exhibits overseas, this domestic exhibition is particularly noteworthy. The artist will be present on opening day, offering a chance to engage in conversation.

8. ‘Kuroda’ 《Beyond》 Exhibition
Located in Jung-gu, Seoul, Pico ‘PCO’ is a non-profit exhibition space created by six artists. This experimental space, operated from an artist’s perspective, hosts exhibitions in a more liberated manner.
This exhibition showcases works by ‘Kuroda’, a comic circle formed by three individuals active as artists, writers, and cartoonists (Rimpa @rim___pa, Yuna@fayexna, Yoonan@yoonanplz). Presenting their comic 《Kuroe》 not as a book but as an exhibition promises a creative and unique experience.
