Monthly transportation expenses. It’s often a burden that adds up, but starting this year, there’s a relatively easy way to travel around Seoul and the Seoul metropolitan area for just 62,000 won. This is thanks to the introduction of the ‘Everyone’s Card’.
Since January of this year, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport has been reimbursing all public transportation expenses exceeding 62,000 won per month for those who use public transportation frequently. This includes buses, subways, and even GTX.
As someone who spends over 100,000 won on transportation every month, this is especially appealing to me. Simple math shows that I could get back more than 40,000 won per month.

- Regular user: 62,000 won per month
- Young adults, elderly, 2-child households: 55,000 won per month
- Households with 3 or more children – Low income: KRW 45,000 per month
Any transit expenses over this amount are eligible for reimbursement.
It’s easy to apply
You don’t need to get a new card for everyone.
You can just use your existing K-Pass.
You don’t even have to choose a reimbursement method in advance – the reimbursement method that gives you the greater reimbursement will be automatically applied based on the sum of your monthly expenses.
What’s the difference from the old K-Pass?
The old K-Pass reimbursed a percentage of your public transportation expenses if you used it 15 or more times per month.
However, the Everyone Card has a slightly different threshold. Any public transportation expenses above a certain threshold will be fully reimbursed, no matter how many times you use it. The reimbursement amount is higher under the new system, so it’s easier on the user’s wallet.
Who’s eligible
- Any K-Pass user
- People who use public transportation such as bus, subway, GTX, etc. on a monthly basis
๐ก Especially young adults in their 20s and 30s, the elderly, and multi-child households who use public transportation frequently, such as commuting to and from work and school.
๐ก The most favorable type is automatically applied based on monthly usage history.
๐ก Users at the 60,000 won per month level โ The existing K-Pass basic type is advantageous.
๐ก Users who spend more than KRW 110,000 per month โ The newly introduced ‘Everyone’s Card’ is advantageous.
