The Seoul Light Lantern Festival, which has been coloring the cold winter nights in Seoul with light, will be extended for two more weeks due to the overwhelming response from the public.
The festival, which was initially scheduled to end on April 4, will light up the city center until the evening of April 18, leaving a lasting impression. The reason for this is that the number of visitors has surpassed previous years. A total of 2.77 million people attended this year’s Seoul Light Lantern Festival, an increase of about 60 percent compared to last year.
Unfortunately, “I Love Carp King,” which was a big hit on social media, as well as the exhibits “Wings of Dreams,” a fire-breathing peacock, and “Hwanwol,” a moon jar made of lung headlights, ended on the 4th as scheduled.
But the space was not left empty. A new work, “Magical Light Walking in Seoul,” will be installed in the area, presenting another light landscape for an extended period.
The festival runs from 6 to 11 p.m. daily, so we recommend not going too late after work.
It’s perfect for walkers who don’t want to let the magic of winter go just yet.
