The Michelin Guide, created by the tire company Michelin as part of a marketing campaign to increase tire consumption by finding the best places to eat, has a long-standing reputation of objectivity. There are many Michelin-starred restaurants in Korea, but here’s a list of Michelin star restaurants in Seoul, as of 2023.
The highest rating available is three stars, with a total of 35 restaurants in Seoul rated between one and three stars. Among the types of cuisine, Innovative refers to creative dishes that use various techniques or methods from different countries rather than a specific type, such as Western, Chinese, or Korean, and Contemporary refers to new menus that utilize contemporary recipes or ingredients to create original dishes.
