Unique water activities to cool off the summer heat are coming to the heart of downtown Seoul!
The giant water playground (paji) “Hatchi Island”will be open for just three days at Ttukseom Hangang Parkin Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
This program is part of the “3rd Take It Easy Han River Triathlon Festival” hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, offering a chance to enjoy a variety of water leisure activities on the Han River without having to travel far out to the suburbs.
Main Water Activities
‘Hatchi Island’ features a giant inflatable playground centered around the Hatchi character—a symbol of Seoul—and consists of various water recreation facilities that everyone, young and old, can enjoy.
- Giant Hatch Bounce: A large inflatable playground installed on the surface of the Han River. The chance to jump and play on Hatch’s belly doesn’t come around every day.
- Slippery Pole Crossing: A hair-raising bridge crossing! You must cross the giant cylindrical poles installed over the Han River. This year, the course is twice as long as last year’s, offering an even greater thrill.
- Water Trampoline and Log Rolling: A water activity reminiscent of old-school game shows, where participants balance on a rotating log on the water and try to last longer than their opponents.
But what if the line is too long?
If you’re worried that you’ll just be waiting in the scorching sun while you’re there to enjoy the water, don’t worry—in addition to this, supplementary programs such as water gun events will be held on-site for waiting visitors to participate in.
