On May 23,GroundCiso will open its new space. After Seochon, Myeongdong, and Central, GroundCiso East will be located in Guui, next to Konkuk University. The first exhibition to mark the opening of GroundCiso East is a photography exhibition, which is GroundCiso’s specialty. The opening exhibition, which the discerning GroundCiso is proud to present, features two young photographers from Colorado, USA and Normandy, France, Alex Kito and Jonathan Bertin.
Alex Kitocaptures our cinematic world without realizing it. His photographs are a warm reminder that beauty is always there, if you’re willing to stop and notice. He takes us from the four seasons of his home state of Colorado to twilight in nature. Alex Kito‘s signature collage work, in which he cuts and pastes photographs to create surreal landscapes, is his signature.
21st-century photographer Jonathan Bertinis heavily inspired by 19th-century impressionist paintings. He is interested in the fluidity of the image, as the Impressionists discovered colors that change with the light. In this exhibition , Jonathan Bertin creates poetic images that tell the familiar and unfamiliar stories of what he calls the extraordinary.
