With the weather warming up again, it finally feels like we can breathe easy. Walking the dog has become much easier, and we even have the luxury of switching from thick down jackets to coats for a little while.
But the sigh of relief is short-lived. Starting Friday, bitter cold with temperatures dropping to -10°C will return.
Until Thursday, we can enjoy relatively mild winter weather. Seoul’s low will hover around 1°C, and daytime highs will stay around 8°C.
However, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration, a cold snap will return starting Friday. Centering on the Seoul metropolitan area, the low is expected to drop to around -10°C. This cold is likely to persist throughout the weekend and continue into next Monday. This is because a high-pressure system over Siberia is expanding and directly affecting Korea.
The good news is that sunny skies are forecast for the entire weekend.
If you plan to go out this weekend, we recommend dressing warmly. Secret Seoul will soon introduce indoor activities you can enjoy this weekend to escape the bitter cold!
