With BTS’s comeback concert just one day away, the Sejong-daero area is expected to be more crowded than ever. As massive crowds are anticipated, tensions are rising regarding traffic congestion and safety management.
Unless you are attending the performance, it is wise to avoid visiting the Sejong-daero area on this day. However, if you live nearby or have unavoidable commitments such as a wedding, you must check the traffic control status in advance.
First, on the 21st , access to major subway stations will be restricted.
Gwanghwamun Station, City Hall Station, and Gyeongbokgung Station will all be bypassed without stopping, and some entrances and exits will be closed starting at 5:00 a.m. After that, a full closurewill begin at 2:00 p.m.
Subway service is expected to return to normal after 10:00 PM.
Bus services will also be subject to large-scale detours.
Routes passing through Sejong-daero , Sajik-ro,and Saemunan-rowill take alternative routes during the event, affecting a total of 51 routes (86 routes when including local and Gyeonggi buses).
Detours on the Sejong-daero sectionbegan as early as 9:00 PMon the 20th, and traffic restrictions will be expanded to include Sajik-ro and Saemunan-ro starting at 4:00 PM on the 21st. Buses are scheduled to resume normal operations after 11:00 PM.
The use of shared bicycleswill alsobe restricted.
Operations at 58 Ttareungi rental stations (692 bike racks)located within a 1-kilometer radius of the event venue will be suspended sequentially starting on the 19th, and service will be unavailable until 9:00 a.m. on the 22nd.
These traffic restrictions go beyond mere inconvenience; they are measures designed to prevent accidents amid large crowds.
If travel is unavoidable, it is necessary to check public transportation detour routes and control times in advance and plan your trip with more time than usual.
