News has emerged that South Korea’s premier festival, the “Seoul International Fireworks Festival,” which brings romance to autumn nights, may arrive earlier than ever this year.
According to aninternal administrative documentrecently disclosed on the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Information Communication Plaza, the 2026 Seoul World Fireworks Festival is scheduled to take place over two consecutive days, on Friday, September 4, and Saturday, September 5.The venues will be the same as in previous years: the areas around Yeouido Hangang Park and Ichon Hangang Park.

Since its inaugural event in 2000, the Seoul World Fireworks Festival has consistently been held in late September or early October. The reason the schedule was suddenly moved up by nearly a month appears to be the concentration of long holidays and major events in the second half of this year.
